State & Christiansen Released From PTO's

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have released defenseman Jeff State and forward Doug Christiansen from their professional tryout contracts. Both players have returned to the ECHL's Reading Royals.

State and Christiansen signed their PTO's Saturday and appeared in two games over the weekend. State recorded two penalty minutes Saturday and had totaled one assist and 14 penalty minutes in five AHL games during two stints with the Sound Tigers this year. Christiansen, who played one game on a PTO with the Sound Tigers last season, notched five penalty minutes in two AHL games over the weekend.

The Sound Tigers will play the middle contests of a four-game homestand when they host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. and the Hartford Wolf Pack this Friday at 7:35 p.m. All Sound Tigers games are web-cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Fans can also watch all games live on the B2 Networks.
