Canadiens recall Danis, Kostitsyn

December 19, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Hamilton Bulldogs News Release


Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that the team has recalled goaltender Yann Danis and forward Andrei Kostitsyn from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Danis, 24, has played in 10 games with the Bulldogs this season, posting a 5-4-1 record, a 2.58 goals against average, and a .905 save percentage. In six games with the Canadiens, he has earned a record of 3-2-0, a 2.69 goals against average and a .908 save percentage

Kostitsyn, 20, has played in 28 games with the Bulldogs this season, collecting 5 goals, 13 assists (5-13-18) and 26 penalty minutes. He has played in four games with the Canadiens this season, and recorded one point (1-0-1), scoring his first NHL goal on December 13 against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Hamilton's next action will take place on Thursday, December 22, when they travel to Cleveland to face the Barons. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Bulldogs next home game will take place on Friday, December 23, when the Rochester Americans visit Copps Coliseum. Game time is 7:30 p.m. This game can be seen live on Hamilton's Cable 14.
