Omaha, NE - The forecast called for a storm of Teddy Bears, and Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights fans made sure that forecast was on the money. The Knights raised more than 1,300 Teddy Bears in their first annual Teddy Bear Toss last Saturday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The final count was 1,369 bears contributed by the fans who saw the Knights play the Iowa Stars. Fans tossed the bears on the ice after the Knights scored their first goal. The bears were then collected and donated to Toys For Tots.

"We're very grateful to the greater Omaha community for its support of the Teddy Bear Toss in its first year," said Doug Soetaert, Ak-Sar-Ben Knights President. "Throughout this season and in years to come, we will continue to promote events such as this that have a positive impact on children and families in our area. We offer our sincere thanks to everyone who participated and to the United States Marines for making this event so successful."

The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights are on the road for the next three games including dates with the San Antonio Rampage on Thursday and the Houston Aeros on Friday. The Knights return home to host the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday, December 30th at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Civic Auditorium box office, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The box office is open through the opening face-off on game nights. Tickets may also be purchased through any Ticketmaster outlet, by phone at (402) 422-1212 or at Ticketmaster.com. Group tickets for the game may be purchased through the Knights office or by calling (402) 344-4625.
