WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Capitals have assigned forward Eric Fehr to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced.
Fehr, 20, was recalled from the Bears earlier today and made his NHL debut tonight against the Florida Panthers at the MCI Center. He had two shots on goal and a minor penalty in 7:33 of ice time.
Fehr is in his first professional season and currently leads Hershey in points with 28 (13 goals, 15 assists) in 29 games.
