Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, SC: The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, announced today that defenseman Bretton Stamler has been loaned to the Hartford Wolf Pack. In three separate transactions, the Road Warriors have signed forwards Travis Oulette and Phil Bronner and defenseman Andrew Himelson.
Stamler, 26, skated in 30 games with the Road Warriors this season compiling three assists and 49 penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alberta native was acquired halfway through last season from Las Vegas. Stamler was a seventh round draft pick in 2005 by the Detroit Red Wings.
Oulette began the season with the Arizona Sundogs in the Central Hockey League. The 24-year-old skated in ten games scoring 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists). Oulette attended Ferris State University the past four years. Last season the Windsor, Ontario native was tied for second on the team with 26 points (11 goals and 15 assists). Oulette played at Ferris State with current Road Warriors forward Jordie Johnston from 2009-2011.
Bronner, 24, scored six goals and six assists in 22 games with the Knoxville Ice Bears this season. The six-foot-two, 205 pound forward played the past four seasons at UMass-Dartmouth. Bronner is from Wilbraham, Massachusetts.
These moves come on the heels of the call-ups of Mike Marcou and Braden Irwin just two days ago. Yesterday, the Road Warriors signed defenseman Andrew Himelson, who dressed for last night's contest.
Himelson, 23, split the beginning part of the year with the Tulsa Oilers and the Knoxville Ice Bears. Most recently with Knoxville, Himelson played in 17 games registering one goal and four assists with 26 penalty minutes. The Monroe, New York native is a graduate of Clarkson University where he spent the previous four years.
