Sound Tigers to Meet Marlies in Round One

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers will face the Toronto Marlies in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs. The American Hockey League has released the schedule for the division semifinal round.

The first round is a best-of-5 series, with the Sound Tigers hosting Games 1 and 2 at Webster Bank Arena. Game 1 will take place on Saturday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. and Game 2 will take place on Sunday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams in their history. The Marlies finished with the league's best record at 54-16-5-1 and 114 points. The Sound Tigers made the playoffs for the first time in four years, posting a 40-29-4-3 record for 87 points.

Bridgeport crosses over to the North Division Semifinals by virtue of having more points than the fourth place team in the North Division. The full series schedule is as follows:

Game 1 - Sat., Apr. 23 - Toronto at Bridgeport, 7:00

Game 3 - Thu., Apr. 28 - Bridgeport at Toronto, 7:30
