BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack Friday by a score of 3-2. Anders Lee scored the Sound Tigers first goal near the midway point of the first period, while Ryan Strome added goals in the first and second periods as well. Kenny Reiter earned the win with 19 saves as the Sound Tigers improve to 5-9-1-3 on the season.

Hartford opened the scoring just 2:50 into the game on Conor Allen's third goal of the season. Allen took a pass from Ryan Bourque and walked the puck to the middle of the blue line. He wound up and fired a slap shot through traffic that beat Reiter for the first goal of the game.

The Sound Tigers answered with a pair of goals in the second, however, and went into the first intermission leading by a score of 2-1. First, Lee collected the puck along the left wing and through it towards the net from behind the goal line. It hit off of Allen's skate and slid through the legs of Wolf Pack goaltender Jeff Malcolm, tying the score at one.

Later in the period, the Sound Tigers picked up a power-play opportunity after a holding call on Dylan McIlrath. Matt Donovan showed outstanding patience with the puck, holding it in the high slot before finding Lee down low. Lee made the cross-ice pass to Strome, who put the one-timer past Malcolm to give the Sound Tigers the lead.

Strome got another goal early in the second period to give the Sound Tigers a two-goal lead. Donovan had the puck at the point before sending it to the right circle for the rookie out of Mississauga, Ont. Strome wheeled around and fired a wrist shot to the net to beat Malcolm and make it a 3-1 game.

Less than five minutes later, the Wolf Pack got one back as Brodie Dupont circled behind the net and found Shawn O'Donnell out in front. He squeezed the pucks through two pairs of legs to find O'Donnell who came down from the right circle for the goal. The Sound Tigers held strong throughout the second, including killing off a double-minor to Justin Johnson and maintained their 3-2 lead into the third period.

The third period was another hard-fought 20 minutes, one in which neither team scored a goal as the Sound Tigers came away with the 3-2 victory. They are back in action Saturday in Albany to take on the Devils. They will return to Webster Bank Arena Sunday afternoon for a 3 p.m. contest against the Manchester Monarchs.
