Penguins Sign Deslauriers to AHL Contract

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed goaltender Jeff Deslauriers to an American Hockey League contract.

Originally signed to a professional tryout agreement by the Penguins on Sept. 24, Deslauriers has gone on to post a 10-4-2 record with a 2.38 goals against average and a .899 save percentage. He currently leads all AHL goalies in wins (10) and ranks third in minutes played (932).

The 29-year old from St-Jean-Richelieu, Quebec was a member of the Penguins during the 2006-07 season, registering a 22-12-3 record and a .908 save percentage, along with career bests in shutouts (4) and goals against average (2.47).

Deslauriers spent the majority of last season with the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL), going 6-8-1 in 15 games with 3.25 GAA and a .902 save percentage. He appeared in five American Hockey League games in 2012-13 with the Norfolk Admirals and Houston Aeros, posting a record of 1-1-0 with each team.

Now a 10th-year veteran, Deslauriers has skated in 209 AHL contests with Edmonton, Hamilton, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Springfield, Oklahoma City, Syracuse, Norfolk and Houston, compiling a record of 94-87-16, a 2.83 GAA and a .904 save percentage. He also played in 62 games in the NHL between the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks.
