HARTFORD, November 29, 2013: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned rookie forwards Michael St. Croix and Josh Nicholls to the Wolf Pack from its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Road Warriors.
St. Croix, a fourth-round (106th overall) Ranger draft pick in 2011 out of the Western Hockey League, has played in seven games with the Wolf Pack this year, going scoreless with two penalty minutes and six shots on goal. In 10 ECHL games with Greenville, the 20-year-old, 5-11, 179-pounder has two goals and four assists for six points, tying him for fourth overall on the team in points and assists.
Nicholls, a 6-2, 196-pound native of Richmond, B.C., has two goals and two assists for four points, along with four PIM, in 16 games with the Road Warriors. Nicholls, 21, had 47 goals last season with the WHL's Saskatoon Blades, ranking him third among WHL skaters in goal-scoring, and also added 38 assists for 85 points, in 71 games. Nicholls, who signed with the Rangers as a free agent March 5, played five years with the Blades, totaling 138 goals and 175 assists for 313 points, along with 206 PIM, in 332 career games. He was originally drafted in the seventh round (182nd overall) by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2010.
