PHILADELPHIA, PA - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, improved their unbeaten-in-regulation streak to four games at 3-0-0-1 with a 4-1 road win over the Philadelphia Phantoms Friday. Sound Tigers goaltender Wade Dubielewicz has stopped 132 of 136 shots during the streak.

The teams zipped through a scoreless opening period with the best scoring chance coming near the end of the first of four Sound Tigers power plays when a shot by defenseman Allan Rourke found its way through traffic but hit the post to the right of Philadelphia goaltender Martin Houle.

The scoreless play continued until Sean Bergenheim notched his eighth goal of the season, and second in as many games, with 3:31 left in the middle frame off assists from Jeremy Colliton and Robert Nilsson to make it 1-0 Sound Tigers. A centering pass by Colliton was deflected high into the air, and Bergenheim spun around as he passed the Phantoms crease and swatted the chest-high puck past Houle. Nilsson extended an assist streak to four games and a point streak to six games on the play as well.

Rob Collins slipped behind the Philadelphia defense for his ninth goal, and team-leading 30th point, of the season off assists from Colliton and Jeff Hamilton to make it 2-0 Sound Tigers 2:58 into the third period. Hamilton is now on a four-game assist streak and a nine-game point streak while Collins is now on a four-game run.

Phantoms captain John Slaney became the AHL's all-time leading scoring among defensemen when his shot from the point was redirected past Dubielewicz by Tony Voce 3:23 later to cut the lead to 2-1. The assist was Slaney's 454th career point. Josh Gratton also assisted on the goal, Voce's sixth of the year.

Bruno Gervais regained the two-goal advantage for the Sound Tigers at 3-1 with his team-leading 11th goal of the season off assists from Hamilton and Nilsson with 8:24 left to play. The power-play marker upped a goal streak to three games and a point streak to four for Gervais.

Philadelphia pulled Houle in favor of an extra attacker at the start of a power play with 2:27 left to play, but Bergenheim iced the win with an unassisted, empty-net goal to make it 4-1 at the 18:04 mark. It was the second shortie in as many games for the Sound Tigers who now have six on the season.

Slaney was the first star of the game, Dubielewicz the second and Colliton the third. Dubielewicz made 26 saves while Houle finished with 20. The Sound Tigers were 1 for 8 on the power play while the Phantoms were 1 for 6 and had a 27-24 shots on goal advantage.

The Sound Tigers will return home to host the Lowell Lock Monsters in a New Year's Eve matinee tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers games are web-cast live at www.soundtigers.com.
