Rampage's Rheaume recalled by Coyotes

SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 30, 2005) - The San Antonio Rampage today announced that their parent club, the Phoenix Coyotes, have recalled center Pascal Rheaume from the American Hockey League team.

The 32-year-old Rheaume has played in 12 NHL games this season with the New Jersey Devils, registering four penalty minutes (PIM). He has also played in 10 games with the Rampage (2-0-2 and 8 PIM) and nine games with Albany (AHL), recording 2-0-2 and 9 PIM. The Coyotes acquired Rheaume in a trade last month along with Ray Schultz and Steven Spencer from New Jersey in exchange for Brad Ference on Nov. 25.

In his NHL career, the 6-1, 210-pound forward has played in 317 career games over parts of nine seasons with New Jersey, St. Louis, Chicago, Atlanta and the New York Rangers, collecting 39-52-91 and 144 PIM. He has also played in 45 career NHL playoff games with St. Louis and New Jersey. The Quebec City, Quebec native was a member of the New Jersey Devils' 2003 Stanley Cup championship team, playing in 24 postseason games and collecting 1-2-3 and 13 PIM. He was also a member of Albany's 1995 Calder Cup Championship team.

The Rampage also announced that the Coyotes have reassigned left wing Ladislav Kouba to the Laredo Bucks, the Rampage's Central Hockey League affiliate, and that the Rampage have signed defenseman Steve Weidlich to a professional tryout offer (PTO).

Kouba, who was assigned to the Rampage on Dec. 26, played three games with San Antonio registering two PIM.

Weidlich has played in one game with the Rampage this season. The 24-year old has appeared in 29 games with Laredo, recording 5-3-8 totals and 58 PIM.
