Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs (13-21-0-2) will look to win their second straight game tonight when they face the Grand Rapids Griffins at Van Andel Arena. The Bulldogs have a record of 2-3-0-0 against the Griffins this season, with one win coming in a shootout.
The last meeting between these two teams took place on Wednesday, December 7, when Grand Rapids defeated Hamilton by a score of 4-3 at Van Andel Arena. The Griffins scored three unanswered third period goal to earn the victory. Duncan Milroy, Corey Locke, and Marc-Antoine Pouliot had goals for Hamilton, while Donald MacLean (2), Kent McDonell, and former âDog Nate DiCasmirro scored for Grand Rapids. Bulldogs goaltender Yann Danis stopped 37 shots and suffered the loss, while Griffins netminder Joey MacDonald made 14 saves to earn the win. Hamilton was 1 for 3 on the power play, while Grand Rapids was 2 for 10.
BULLDOGS NOTES - D Mathieu Roy (1g-2a) and D James Sanford (1g-1a), both recorded their first multipoint games of the season in the Hamilton's 4-1 victory over the Rochester Americans last night. Roy was named the game's first star, while Sanford earned third star honours.
- LW Michael Lambert recorded his third multipoint game of the season last night (1g-2a) and was named the game's second star.
- The Bulldogs did not allow a power-play goal for the first time in six games and the seventh time overall this season.
- D Jeff Paul has two points (2a) this season, and both have come against the Griffins.
- LW Peter Vandermeer played in 73 games for Grand Rapids last season, recording 17 points (4g-13a) and a team-leading 310 penalty minutes.
