Rangers Call Up Kondratiev

New York, December 30, 2005 -- New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Maxim Kondratiev has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Kondratiev, 22, has appeared in 28 games with the Rangers this season, registering one goal and two assists, along with 20 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 194-pound native of Togliatti, Russia also skated in one game with Hartford (AHL) on December 28 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton against the Penguins.

From today's practice, all players on the active roster participated other than Tom Poti and Steve Rucchin. Poti is currently sidelined day-to-day with the flu, while Rucchin is out on a day-to-day basis due to a bruised foot that he suffered on December 28 against the Islanders.

The Rangers will return to action tomorrow against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Mellon Arena. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
