Orlando Solar Bears News Release

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears hosted the second annual Donor and Partner night for their charity partner the Community Food & Outreach Center. The event, which was attended by almost 300 of Central Florida's most distinguished philanthropists, volunteer leaders, and community advocates, took place before the game on Thursday, February 28th. This year the event was hosted by Managing Partner and Community Food & Outreach Center board member Jason Siegel in the Fairwinds Atrium of the Amway Center.

All donors and partners who attended received complementary hockey pucks, had the opportunity to have autographs and pictures with Solar Bears players, and received a special visit from the Star Wars movie characters. During the event, Siegel spoke about the Orlando Solar Bears partnership with the Community Food & Outreach Center, and donors and partners were given an update on the programs and services now offered at the Community Food & Outreach Center's Downtown Orlando Campus because of their generosity and support. All attendees stayed after to support and watch the team in action that night in a special section of the Amway Center.

"I am proud to serve on the Board of the Community Food & Outreach Center," said Jason Siegel, Solar Bears Managing Partner. "It was a great night with two big wins, one on the ice and another off the ice."

"We could not help the homeless, the hungry, and those struggling in poverty without our donors and partners; and the Orlando Solar Bears are one of finest," said Andrae Bailey, executive director of Community Food & Outreach Center. "This event was a wonderful time of celebration and encouragement for our partners and advocates. We are thankful that the Orlando Solar Bears hosted this event and made it possible." said Bailey.
