Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (3/1/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday afternoon that goaltender Tyler Beskorowany has re-joined the Idaho Steelheads from Texas of the American Hockey League and forward Sam Carrick has been recalled from Idaho to Toronto of the AHL.
Beskorowany is available this weekend when the team hosts Utah on Friday and Saturday at CenturyLink Arena in Boise. It is the third time this season Beskorowany has been returned to Idaho after being re-assigned to Texas, though he hasn't appeared in an AHL game yet this season. He has 15 wins in net with Boise and a .910 save percentage.
Carrick, 21, is headed to the AHL for the first time after picking up 37 points in 50 games in his first professional season for Idaho, including his 16th goal on Wednesday night, along with a plus-15 plus/minus rating. Carrick is under contract with the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs. The Markham, Ontario, product played major-junior hockey for the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League prior to turning pro. He had 84 goals in four seasons in the OHL, including 37 last season as the Battalion's captain.
Carrick is the 15th different player to advance from Idaho to the AHL this season.
