Maxime Clermont Reassigned to Albany

GREENVILLE, S.C. - March 1, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that goaltender Maxime Clermont has been reassigned by the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils to the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League.

This marks Clermont's first call up to the AHL this season. As a rookie he had a 1-1-0 record, a 2.01 goals-against average, and a .925 save percentage in two games with Albany. The second-year pro has a 15-10-5 record for the Jackals and is 28-20-8 in his ECHL career. Clermont was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round (#174 overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft after going 25-15-4 the previous season with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Additionally, the Jackals have signed goaltender Joe Spagnoli to a standard player contract. Spagnoli attended training camp with Elmira this fall and has been playing with Danbury of the Federal Hockey League.
