The Sky Carp had plenty of opportunities to put a hurting on the Great Lakes Loons Friday night at ABC Supply Stadium, but in the end couldn't quite get the big hit they needed in a 3-0 defeat.

The Loons, who have now won three in a row in the series after dropping the opener, scored single runs in the fourth, sixth and eighth innings to secure the win.

Peyton Fosher, normally a reliever, got the start for the Carp and was outstanding, allowing just one run in four innings of work.

Four Sky Carp pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts and just three walks.

The Carp were on base plenty in the game, but finished 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position, leaving 11 runners stranded. Starlyn Caba highlighted the offensive effort, getting two hits, two stolen bases and a walk.

The Sky Carp and Loons will round out the weekend in fine fashion, playing matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
