Manchester, NH- The Toronto Blue Jays, parent club of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, announced that six members of the 2008 Fisher Cats have been assigned to the Phoenix Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League. Catcher J.P. Arencibia and second baseman Scott Campbell join pitchers Zach Dials and Daryl Harang from the current club, while now Triple-A outfielder Travis Snider and pitcher Mike MacDonald will also play for the Desert Dogs, a team comprised of top prospects from the Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies and Minnesota Twins
Arencibia, 22, is batting .285 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI for New Hampshire, leads all Toronto minor leaguers with 102 RBI overall this season and ranks second in the organization with 27 home runs. The Blue Jays' 2007 first-round draft pick (21st overall/Tennessee) was promoted to the Fisher Cats on June 16 from Advanced-A Dunedin.
