Chesapeake Baysox News Release

The Eastern League of Professional Baseball announced today that Bowie Baysox Manager Brad Komminsk, Pitcher Brad Bergesen and Outfielder Lou Montanez have won end of season awards.

Komminsk was named the Eastern League Manager Of The Year; Bergesen was named the Eastern League Pitcher Of The Year and Montanez was named the Eastern League MVP.

The awards recognize the successes of these individuals and the entire team both on and off the field during what has become one of the greatest seasons of baseball played in Bowie Baysox history!

The Baysox have never captured the Manager Of The Year Award, while Bergesen is the first Baysox Pitcher Of The Year since John Stephens (2001) won the award. Bergesen is only the second Baysox pitcher to ever win the award. Montanez becomes just the second Baysox player to win the Eastern League MVP Award. Calvin Pickering was the first when he won the MVP in 1998.
