Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips peppered the Victoria Royals with 62 shots on goal en route to a 4-2 home victory over the Victoria Royals.

Gannon Laroque opened the scoring for the Royals on the man advantage, netting a wrist shot at 3:28 in the second frame. Niko Huuhtanen responded in short order for the Silvertips, connecting on a net-front pass from Ryan Hofer for his 23rd goal of the season.

Everett grabbed the lead minutes later as Michal Gut notched a powerplay goal at 7:40 in the second period. Later in the period, Ben Hemmerling tapped in a rebound for his fifth of the campaign. A minute later, Aidan Sutter blasted a slapshot from the blueline to give the Silvertips a 4-1 lead.

Braden Holt stopped 21 of 23 for his 19th goal of the season.

"We're being as aggressive as we can and talking as a unit," said Sutter of Silvertips' defensive effort. "It helps us start our swarm and come out of the zone with the puck. Talking as a unit of five helps us win battles in the d-zone."

The Silvertips now turn their attention to the Prince George Cougars, who will visit Angel of the Winds Arena Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the door will receive a mini-zamboni courtesy of Seatown. Tickets are available.
