The Western Hockey League and RE/MAX have teamed up with local Canadian Mental Health Association branches to promote positive mental health in the month of February.

As the Saskatoon Blades look for another victory in front of a home crowd, they'll also promote mental health awareness, in partnership with Saskatoon's Canadian Mental Health Association branch.

The Blades have numerous plans in store as part of their edition of "WHL Talk Today Game Night," which includes in-game giveaways, prizes courtesy of RE/MAX, special messages from those within the organization, and ways you can help encourage mental health awareness in your life.

Catch some great action between two high-flying teams and support a great initiative to bring awareness to mental health.

Tonight

The Saskatoon Blades (23-15-1-1) are right back to work getting set to face the Red Deer Rebels (28-13-2-1) at SaskTel Centre.

Saskatoon pounded the country's-best Edmonton Oil Kings 6-1 last night, complete with a three-point performance by league-leading scorer Kyle Crnkovic.

Three of Saskatoon's goals came on the powerplay, which has been red hot over the last two games, racking up seven goals on the man-advantage.

This will be the second of a five-game home-stand for the Blue and Gold. They'll also open the doors to the Calary Hitmen next Wednesday, followed by back-to-back contests against Lethbridge and Regina next weekend.

Who To Watch

Alternate captain Kyle Crnkovic has been red-hot as of late, piling up 18 points in his last seven games. This includes four three-point affairs, and a four-point performance against the Winnipeg ICE on January 22nd. The Chestermere, AB product is eligible for the upcoming NHL draft, and leads the entire league in scoring with 63 points (26G-37A).

Forwards Jayden Wiens continues to find the scoresheet since the turn of the calendar year, potting six goals over the last five games. The Carrot River, SK product picked up a goal and an assist in last night's 6-1 win over Edmonton, including the game-winner in the first period.

Blades captain Aiden De La Gorgendiere earned the third star in last night's win over the Oil Kings, scoring a powerplay marker in the second period, and adding a pair of helpers. The 2002-born defender from Langley, BC has six points in his last two games.

Game Day 50/50

Tonight's Game Day 50/50 is in support of the Saskatoon Blades Education Fund, with sales opening at 9:00am and running until the second intermission.

Saves for Hunger

This season, The Saskatoon Blades have partnered with Nutrien to launch the "Saves for Hunger" Campaign. For every save a Blades netminder makes this season, Nutrien is donating $5 to a local organization. Blades goaltenders have made 1148 saves so far, running the tally up to $5740 raised as the team welcomes Edmonton.
