The Kelowna Rockets win streak grew to eight games tonight with a 5-1 victory over the Tri-City Americans at the Toyota Centre in Kennewick, WA.
The Rockets were playing their second of three games in as many night's, last night they downed the Spokane Chiefs 4-1.
Jake Lee, Nolan Flamand and Adam Kydd all had three-point nights, while Andrew Cristall posted a pair of goals. Making the second start of his young WHL career, Jari Kykkanen picked up his second win after turning aside 24 shots.
Jake Lee (10) scored the lone goal of the opening period, beating Nick Avakyan with 1:41 to play in the period.
The Rockets pulled away from the Americans in the second period, with Andrew Cristall (12, 13) scoring back-to-back goals early on. Lee (11) wired home his second of the night, Nolan Flamand (7) pushed Kelowna out to a 4-0 lead.
Chase Friedt-Mohr (3) broke the Rockets shutout bid early in the third. Adam Kydd (8) re-established the Rockets four-goal lead with a minute to play in the game.
The Rockets were one-for-four on the power play, while the penalty kill shut down all three American chances.
Kelowna outshot Tri-City 29 to 25.
The Rockets record improves to 24-10-1-3, they currently sit second in the BC Division with 52 points.

The home game that the Rockets play on February 9th is home game number 21. The postponed game against the Giants that was set for January 7th has yet to be rescheduled, a new date for that game is expected to be announced soon. The Rockets thank you for your patience.
