Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips once more dominated the pace of play on home ice, trouncing the Prince George Cougars 4-0 at Angel of the Winds Arena Saturday night in front of 5,419 fans.

Jackson Berezowski opened the scoring at 4:55 in the first period, collecting a loose puck in his own zone and charging coast-to-coast to pot his 30th goal of the season. Berezowski then set up Michal Gut at 18:28 in the period, taking a low shot that generated a juicy rebound that Gut promptly deposited for his 10th of the campaign.

Matthew Ng added to the lead at 6:31 in the second period, capitalizing on a give-and-go entry with Roan Woodward to collect his seventh goal of the season. Three minutes later, Olen Zellweger found Niko Huuhtanen in front of the Cougars' net with a slick backhand feed at 4-on-4, with Huuhtanen snapping home his 24th goal of the season.

In the third period, Ronan Seeley tallied his seventh goal of the year by wristing a hard shot through the catching glove of opposing netminder Tyler Brennan for the Tips' second 4-on-4 goal of the game. Austin Roest contributed one last goal at 19:21 to complete the 6-0 victory.

Koen MacInnes stopped 24 shots in the shutout, his third of the season and sixth of his WHL career.

Everett is now 32-7-4 on the season, giving them 68 total points. They are 18-2-2 at home, owners of the second-best win percentage on home ice in the Western Hockey League behind only Edmonton. MacInnes' clean sheet gives the Silvertips six on the season as a team, the most in the WHL.

The Silvertips finish off their weekend triple-header at home Sunday evening against the Kelowna Rockets at 4:05 p.m. Sunday's game will also mark the return of the Great Small Dog Race, presented by Sam's Cats and Dogs Naturally. Tickets are available.
