Shaw, Green each finish a triple shy of cycle in loss

El Paso, Texas - The Sacramento River Cats' (40-39) pitching staff had their hands full with the El Paso Chihuahuas (49-30) on Thursday night, dropping game three of their four-game series by a score of 17-6.

Sacramento got off to a promising start with Chris Shaw and Zach Green smacking back-to-back jacks in the opening frame to give the River Cats a 2-0. The Chihuahuas, however, would respond with two of their own in the bottom of the first, and did not stop there, piling up 17 runs on 20 hits in the contest. Tonight was the third time this road trip that Sacramento has allowed their opponents to log 20 hits in a game.

On the other side of the ball, the River Cats had four players with multi-hit efforts, with Shaw and Green leading the charge with three hits apiece. Each finished 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and two runs batted in. Aramis Garcia and Henry Ramos also chipped in with two hits each including a double. Catcher Ronnie Freeman entered the game in the eighth as a pitcher and retired the only batter he faced.

The Sacramento River Cats will turn to right-hander Enderson Franco (2-2, 6.32) as they look for the series split tomorrow night. El Paso will go with right-hander Dinelson Lamet (0-0, 4.50). Additional Notes

- The River Cats hit back-to-back home runs for the 10th time this season when Chris Shaw and Zach Green homered consecutively in the first. The River Cats now have 136 long balls on the year - last season Sacramento only hit 113 home runs.

- With Zach Green's home run in the first, he has now homered five times in his last six games. Green now leads the team with 16, breaking the tie with Mike Gerber who has 15.
