
Aviators soar to 16-3 win over Grizzlies

Fresno, California - The Fresno Grizzlies (40-40) dropped their fourth straight contest, falling to the Las Vegas Aviators (45-35) 16-3 from Chukchansi Park. For the eighth consecutive game, the winner scored double-digit runs with Fresno moving to 3-5 in those affairs. Las Vegas tallied 23 hits with 10 going for extra-bases.
Sheldon Neuse, Dustin Fowler and Jonah Heim each went deep for the Aviators. The trio combined for seven RBI and six runs. Mark Payton and Skye Bolt both laced triples with Payton notching two runs on his three-bagger. Corban Joseph and Seth Brown mustered three doubles together, driving in six total RBI. Joseph was plated four times as well. Overall, eight of nine starters grabbed multi-hit evenings, six enjoyed two-plus RBI and runs.
Jose Marmolejos pounded three hits in the Grizzlies defeat. The first baseman expanded his club-high hit streak to 12 games, the longest by a Fresno player this season. In that span, he is 25-for-49 with a homer, two triples, four doubles, 19 RBI, 11 runs and three walks. Erick Fedde (0-1) was dealt the decision while Jesus Luzardo (1-0) relished the victory.

ON THAT FRES-NOTE: Grizzlies starter Erick Fedde made his Fresno/PCL debut tonight against his hometown squad. The 26-year-old former first round pick (18th overall, 2014) was born and raised in Las Vegas, where he went on to pitch for UNLV. Fedde was a high school teammate of Bryce Harper.
