November 16, 2018 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Lincoln Stars News Release

On Friday morning, USA Hockey released their roster for the team that will compete for the country at the 2018 World Junior A Challenge. Shane Pinto will represent the US and the Stars in the annual tournament that is set to take place in Bonnyville, Alberta from December 9th through the 16th.

Pinto leads Lincoln in scoring through 15 games in 2018-19. His nine goals and 15 points are good for second among all USHL rookies. The 18-year old has had a great week. On Sunday, he scored two goals and assisted the only other in a 3-0 win over Tri-City. He celebrated his 18th birthday on Monday, before signing his letter of intent to play for the University of North Dakota, Wednesday. This morning's news adds yet another fantastic achievement to an already impressive resume.

Pinto will join 20 other players from the USHL on the Selects team led by Tri-City head coach/GM Anthony Noreen. The US will look to add it's 8th World Junior A Select Challenge title when he and his peers lace the skates in a pool that contains four other teams: Canda East, Canada West, Czech Republic, and Russia.
