Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators returned home on Tuesday night and beat the Binghamton Mets 3-2 in front of 3,243 fans at Metro Bank Park. The Senators continue playing good baseball and have now won 10 of their past 14 games and six of their past eight at home.

Erik Arnesen started and was solid again, giving up just two runs in 5.1 innings before turning the game over to eventual winning pitcher Luis Atilano. Atilano came on in the sixth inning, walked the first batter he faced to load the bases, but induced a ground out to end the inning. Clint Everts pitched a scoreless ninth inning earning his first save of the season.

Leonard Davis had a two-out RBI double in the third inning and Marvin Lowrance had an RBI single in the sixth inning to tie the game. Ian Desmond broke the tie with a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Desmond had three hits in the game while Davis had two hits.

The Sens played outstanding defense, throwing the tying run out at third base to end the eighth inning.

The three-game homestand continues on Wednesday night with RH Carlos Martinez on the mound for the Sens against RH Jennry Mejia.
