June 16, 2009 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros made a roster move today, receiving LHP Scott Lewis from Cleveland on a Major League rehabilitation assignment and promoting RHP Jake Westbrook to Class AAA Columbus to continue his own rehab assignment.

Lewis started the Tribe's home opener this season on April 10th, but was placed on the 15-day DL the next day with a strained left forearm and transferred to the 60-day DL May 17th. He spent the bulk of last year with the Aeros, going 6-2 with a 2.33 ERA in 13 starts after missing the first two months of the season with a strained left lat. Lewis was promoted to Class AAA Buffalo August 14th and made four starts for the Bisons before making his Major League debut September 10th at Baltimore, tossing eight shutout innings for his first big-league win. He finished the season 4-0 with a 2.63 ERA in four starts for the Indians. A third-round pick out of Ohio State in 2004, Lewis went 7-9 with a 3.68 ERA for the Aeros in 2007 and led all of minor league baseball with a 1.48 ERA for Class A Kinston in 2006. He will wear #9.

Westbrook made two rehab appearances for Akron and did not allow a run in either outing, blanking Altoona for three innings June 6th and shutting out Portland for four innings June 12th. He allowed just four hits and one walk in his seven innings, striking out four and holding opposing hitters to a .174 batting average.
