
Sea Dogs blast Trenton

Portland starter Kyle Jackson (5-1) picked up his 3rd win this season against the Thunder. Jackson, who made his 4th start of the year, pitched 5 innings on seven hits and four runs. The righty issued no walks and recorded two strikeouts.
Trenton's Chase Wright (6-2) was tagged for 5 runs on 5 hits in just 3+ innings to take the loss in game 3 of the series.
The Sea Dogs have won two straight over Trenton after a 3-game losing streak and climbed back into sole possession of second place in the Northern Division.
Jeff Corsaletti's 1st inning heroics continued once again. One night after a 2-run triple in the first inning, Corsaletti smacked a 1st inning, 2-run homer to right-center field off Wright. Trenton's Cody Ehlers cut the Portland lead to 2-1 with an RBI single off Jackson in the second.
Portland would score nine runs during innings 3 through 5 off Wright, Michael Gardner and Oneli Perez. Zach Daeges singled home Tony Granadillo with two outs in the third inning, giving Portland a 3-1 lead. In the fourth inning, Bell laced a 2-run double and Granadillo added a run-scoring single. The Sea Dogs took a commanding 11-1 lead in the fifth inning on a 2-run single by Khoury and Bell's 3-run homer to left-center field.
Trenton scored three times off Jackson in the fifth inning. Austin Jackson smacked a 2-run triple and Chris Malec followed with a run-scoring double.
The Thunder had 10 hits after the fourth inning but finished the night 5-for-17 with runners-in-scoring position.
Portland's bullpen allowed nine baserunners over four innings but just one run. Carlos Vasquez pitched two frames on five hits and one run. Vasquez got James Cooper to hit into an inning ending double-play in the seventh inning. Mike James fired two innings of 1-hit ball on two walks and two strikeouts.

Notes...Ryan Khoury finished 3-for-4, 2 RBI, playing in his first game of the series...Kyle Jackson improved to 2-1 as a starter...The Sea Dogs went 6-for-11 with runners-in-scoring position and scored only one run with two outs.
