ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to snap a two-game slide as they take the field in the third game of a four-game set against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) at Jerry Uht Park. The Aeros have taken the first two games of the series and have won three straight over Erie dating back to the last series at Canal Park. Akron won the series opener in a 6-5 thriller and downed the âWolves on Tuesday night 9-1. Akron is the top team in the league with a 51-32 record and they are 3.5 games ahead of second place Bowie in the Southern Division...With dropping the first two games of the series, Erie is now 15.5 games behind the first place Aeros and the team is 5-5 in the last 10 games. Akron snapped Erie's four-game winning streak in the series opener...Lefty Luke French takes the mound for the Howlers in his 17th appearance and 16th start of the season. French is 1-0 with a no-decision in two starts against Akron. He picked up a win in his last outing against Harrisburg going eight innings, allowing a run on seven hits with three walks and a strikeout. French leads the EL with 100 innings pitched...Righty Kevin Dixon takes the mound for Akron. Dixon is 0-1 with a no-decision and a 5.06 ERA in two starts against Erie. He picked up a win in his last outing against Reading going six innings, allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. Dixon is 3-1 in his last four starts...Dusty Ryan, Casey Fien, Wilkin Ramirez and Ryan Roberson have been named to the 2008 EL All-Star Game.
