
Royals First Home Game of 2025, Open-Game Series with Trois-Rivières

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, return home from a four-game road-trip to host the Trois-Rivières Lions for a three-game series on Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th at 7 PM, as well as Sunday, January 12th at 3 PM. The home games feature the Fans Pick the Music Night, Star Wars Night, and Dollar Savor Sunday promotional games, respectively.
Royals Right Now:
The Royals enter their fourth meeting of the season with the Lions (1-2-0) with an 11-18-4-0 record after splitting a two-game series against Worcester. The Royals fell to the Railers, 3-1, on Saturday, January 4th after they defeated the Railers in a shootout, 4-3, on Friday, January 3rd. Matt Miller scored the lone goal of the three-round shootout while Vinnie Purpura stopped all three Worcester shootout attempts.
Miller and defenseman Gianfranco Cassaro enter the series with a team-high 19 points. Forward Todd Skirving leads Reading in goals (8) and defenseman Sam Sedley leads the Royals in assists (16).
Scouting the Lions:
Trois-Rivières enters the three-game series with a 21-4-4-0 record (46 points) through their first 29 games of the 2024-25 campaign. Previously, the Lions have won three-straight with a point earned in each of their last six game (5-0-1-0).
ECHL affiliates to the Montreal Canadians and Laval Rocket, Trois-Rivières' offense is led by forward Anthony Beauregard in 30 points (10g-20a), as well as forwards Jakov Novak and Alex Beaucage in goals (12).
