Alexandria would take three up and three down from the Rox in the second and then continue to extend their lead in the bottom half of the inning. With the bases loaded a walk would bring in a run for the Blue Anchors and Albert Baur would immediately follow it with a grand slam taking a 6-0 lead over St. Cloud.
The Rox would get closer to scoring in the top of the third but were stopped by the Blue Anchors leaving three on base.
Alexandria put up another two runs on three hits in the bottom half of the third off a double and a groundout to second base for an 8-0 lead.
St. Cloud finally got things going in the fourth as Chris Paul led off the inning reaching and then advancing to second all on an error by the third baseman. Daniel Comstock followed hitting a single and moved to second on a wild pitch as Paul moved to third. On a ground out to short by Devin Pearson, Paul would score to make it an 8-1 game. Dustin Breshears singled on two outs scoring Comstock to move the Rox to only trail 8-2.
Clay Williamson started the fifth inning for the Rox hitting a double and scored on a double by Luke Weber to trail by three. With two outs on the board Comstock hit a two-run home run making it an 8-5 game heading into the bottom of the fifth.
The Rox held the Blue Anchors to three up and three down in the fifth to still trail Alexandria. In the sixth the defenses took over allowing no runs and only one hit in the inning.
St. Cloud brought the game within two in the top of the seventh as the bases were loaded and Breshears hit a sacrifice fly to score one run on two hits in the inning for an 8-6 game.
Both teams would post one run in the eighth to take a 9-7 game into the ninth in the Blue Anchors favor.
In the top of the ninth Headley led off the inning earning a walk on six pitches and then scored off a triple by Pearson bringing the game within one. Breshears followed with a single tying the game up 9-9.
With the game tied up at nine each heading into the ninth the Blue Anchors loaded the bases on one out and a walk off single would win the game for Alexandria 10-9.
