Madison, Wisc - The Battle Creek Bombers (7-14) held on for an 11-9 win over the Madison Mallards (14-8) on Friday night.

Battle Creek got on the board first in the third inning. Rouric Bridgewater doubled in Cam Gibson and Tommy Mirabelli for and early 2-0 lead. The next inning though would be the one where the Bomber offense went to work. With two outs and the bases empty catcher Drew Carlile singled to start what would be an eight run inning for Battle Creek. The Bombers got RBIs from Joe Serrano, Rouric Bridgewater, Matthew Fears, Tyler Moore, Greg Velazquez, Jared Foster, and Tommy Mirabelli . Battle Creek found themselves ahead 10-0, but this game was far from over.

The run support would be enough for Alex Tukey (W 1-2) who went five innings, giving up three runs and striking out four. Alex did not allow a Mallard to reach base until the fourth inning where Madison got on the board with a pair of runs. They would tack on one more in the fifth before Battle Creek answered with a run of their own in the seventh as Mirabelli scored for the third time in the game. Madison though, refused to go away. They scored two more runs in the seventh off Ethan Bramschreiber and pulled to within two the next inning. Brian Heldman surrendered four runs to make it an 11-9 score. In the ninth, Gabe Berman (S 8) would put the tying runs on base, before locking down the win.

Cam Verbeke (L 5-3) lasted just three innings on the mound for Madison. The two teams will conclude the series tomorrow.
