Rouse's Grand Slam Lifts River Cats Past Bees

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats defeated the Salt Lake Bees, 7-4, on Sunday night at Raley Field. After Salt Lake grabbed a 1-run lead in the 3rd, the Cats exploded with a 6-run 4th inning to take a 5-run lead over the Bees, led by Mike Rouse's grand slam. Rouse led the Sacramento offense, going 3-for-4 with 1 run, 4 RBI and the 4th inning grand slam to right field, the fourth of the season for the Cats. Sacramento starter Victor Moreno earned his third win of the season allowing 8 hits, 4 runs (all earned), 3 walks and struck out 5 in 5 innings of work. Matt Roney earned his second save of the season in 1 1/3 innings of relief and struck out two. Sacramento moves to 41-43 on the season, just two games under .500 and picks up one game on first place Tucson, who lost to Las Vegas in a Sunday matinee.
