
Grizzlies ready to blast off Fourth of July homestand

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies return to Grizzlies Stadium Tuesday, July 4 to start their sixth homestand of the season with three games each against the Sacramento River Cats and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
The homestand starts out with a bang with the Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by ABC 30, following the Grizzlies game against the rival Sacramento River Cats. Independence Day is always one of the biggest games of the season for the Grizzlies so get your tickets quickly as it expects to be a standing room only, sell out crowd for the 6:05 p.m. game start. Also on the Fourth of July, the Fresno Grizzlies will be paying tribute to our troops. During the Grizzlies-River Cats game, the Grizzlies and Blue Star Mom's, a non-profit group that supports the families of the troops, will gather well wishes from Grizzlies fans on a banner that will be sent to the troops. For fans who can't get enough of the fireworks, Wednesday's game will feature the Fifth of July Fireworks Extravaganza following the Grizzlies-River Cats game, which is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
Thursday, July 6 will be another Thirsty Thursday, presented by 104.1 FM. Fans can quench their thirst by purchasing 12 oz. sodas and draft beers for just $1 until the end of the 5th inning.
Friday, July 7 starts a three-game series with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the first 2,500 fans through the turnstiles will receive a Water Bottle Mister, presented by ABC 30. On Saturday's game, the first 1,500 kids (12 and under) will receive a Plastic Bat & Ball Set, presented by Yellow Book.
Sunday's game will be another chance at the Hyundai Challenge, where one lucky fan could win a brand-new car. Fans are encouraged to complete an entry form can sign-up at the courtesy booth and if the Grizzlies team hits for the cycle in the 5th inning, the winner will be awarded with a 2006 Hyundai Sonata.
