Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats were shut out by the Salt Lake Bees, 2-0, in the teams' series finale at Raley Field on Monday night in front of a sell-out crowd of 14,414 at Raley Field.

The sell-out marks the second of the season for the River Cats and the 41st in Raley Field history. Sacramento and the Bees were locked in a scoreless tie until the top half of the 8th inning when Salt Lake scored 2 runs on a Howie Kendrick double to left field. That would end up being all the offense either team would muster on the night and the Sacramento offense managed just 2 hits, one by Hiram Bocachica in the 4th inning and one by Charles Thomas in the 8th inning. Starter Ben Fritz took his third loss of the season, despite allowing just 6 hits, 2 runs (both earned), 1 walk and striking out 3 in 7 1/3 innings of work. With the loss, the Cats fall to 41-44.
