
PGE Park to light up July 4th

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers and Portland General Electric (PGE) are teaming up to celebrate the nation's independence this Tuesday, July 4, with a host of activities, including a special post-game fireworks show, as the Beavers play host to the Las Vegas 51s at 7:05 p.m.
The traditional fireworks show kicks off a three-game homestand and will follow the conclusion of Tuesday's game. A host of additional special events and promotions will add to the holiday festivities.
Tickets for the game, which annually draws one of the largest crowds of the season, are available at the PGE Park box office, located at 1844 S.W. Morrison, or through Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (503) 224-4400 or on-line at www.pgepark.com. Tickets range from $8 - $13.
Gates for the Fourth of July game open at 6 p.m.
Wednesday's game features the return of "Bark in the Park," when dogs are allowed into the game free with a paid adult. The Oregon Humane Society will have dogs available to adopt, and Dove Lewis Animal Hospital's "Doc" mascot will be on-site. All dogs must be leashed for the event.

FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION - Beavers vs. Las Vegas - 7:05 p.m.
The Portland Beavers, PGE and Energy Trust of Oregon will be teaming up to celebrate Independence Day in style. 7,500 hand-held fans and light bulb coupons will be given out, courtesy of Energy Trust of Oregon. Larry the Lightbulb and Flora will be on-site, along with a clown and a face-painter, courtesy of PGE. PGE will also provide a spectacular post-game fireworks display. It's also Taco Tuesday presented by 98/7 KUPL, with tacos available for just $1 in the Widmer Garden. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, July 5
BARK IN THE PARK /ZENNER'S DOLLAR DOG WEDNESDAY - Beavers vs. Las Vegas - 7:05 p.m.

Thursday, July 6
MILLER LITE THURSDAY/CASINO NIGHT - Beavers vs. Las Vegas - 7:05 p.m.
The popular Thursday night tradition returns with specials being offered for Miller Lite Thursday presented by Jammin' 95.5. It's also Casino Night, featuring a charity Texas Hold-'Em tournament. Proceeds from the tournament will go toward LifeShock, an organization supported by Jammin' 95.5 and Les Schwab Tires, that works to place defibrillators in local high schools. Buy-in for the tournament is $10.
