Portland Beavers News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Ryan Shealy drove in three runs and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox earned a series split with a 4-2 victory over the Portland Beavers Monday night at Security Service Field.

The Beavers (40-44) return to PGE Park Tuesday night for their Fourth of July game against the Las Vegas 51s. The game will be followed by a traditional Independence Day fireworks show. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.

Sun-Woo Kim (4-3) got the win for Colorado Springs (35-50), yielding two runs on seven hits in six innings. Nate Field picked up his 14th save.

Jared Wells turned in another quality start for the Beavers, striking out six and giving up four runs (3 earned) on five hits over six innings, but fell to 0-2 with the loss.

Luke Carlin's two-run home run brought the Beavers to within 3-2 in the fifth, but the Sky Sox plated an insurance run in the sixth on an RBI groundout by Shealy, who sparked a three-run rally in the fourth inning with a two-run double.

Chris Iannetta had two hits for the Sky Sox, including an RBI single to cap the scoring in the bottom of the fourth. Josh Wilson was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

NOTES: Carlin has at least one hit in each of his last 20 road games ... Justin Leone will participate in the Home Run Derby during the 2006 Triple-A All-Star Game festivities in Toledo, Ohio, next week.
