
Rockets defeat the Tri-City Americans 7-5

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Tri-City Americans 7-5 at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Saturday night in a wild, back and forth game that featured plenty of goals and lots of action.
Seven different Rockets scored as Kelowna improved to 29-10-3-0 on the season with the Rockets set to head out on the road for a pair of games next weekend.
The Rockets led 3-2 after the first period and 5-4 after the second as the teams went back and forth exchanging goals through the first 40 minutes.
Lucas Johansen was named first star and had a goal and two assists to lead the offense. Tyson Baillie, Rourke Chartier, Calvin Thurkauf, and Dillon Dube each had a goal and an assist while Justin Kirkland also scored.
Nick Merkley sealed the win with an empty net goal and added two assists. Michael Herringer earned the win in net as Kelowna outshot Tri-City 42-27.
The Rockets are back in action next weekend when they travel to Victoria for a double-header against the BC Division rival Royals on Friday and Saturday nights.
Kelowna's next home game is Tuesday Jan.19 when they host the Prince George Cougars.
