Winterhawks Fall 3-0 to Kamloops

The Portland Winterhawks (20-19-2-0) fell 3-0 to the Kamloops Blazers (21-14-4-2) Sunday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The Blazers' Garrett Pilon scored the only goal of the first period 12:05 into the frame to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

It remained a one-goal game until 15:30 of the second when Matthew Campese scored to give the Blazers a 2-0 lead they took into the third.

The Blazers made it 3-0 at the 14:28 mark on a goal by Jake Kryski. The Hawks fought throughout the period to cut into the Kamloops lead, but were turned away by netminder Connor Ingram, who finished with a shutout on 21 saves.

The Hawks will be back in action Wednesday when they host the Regina Pats at the Coliseum at 7 p.m.
