EDMONTON, ALTA. - The Edmonton Oil Kings traded left-winger Garan Magnes to the Seattle Thunderbirds Sunday in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft, general manager Randy Hansch announced.

The 6'0", 194-pound Edmonton native played 18 games with the Oil Kings this season, registering a goal and an assist. Magnes has played 61 career games in the WHL over three seasons collecting two goals, four assists and 20 penalty minutes.

"We appreciate the hard work Garan gave while with the Oil Kings and wish him the very best in Seattle," Hansch said. "We feel Garan will get the opportunity to earn more playing time with the Thunderbirds and this allows us to add an additional draft pick for the future."

The Edmonton Oil Kings take to the ice Wednesday January 13, 2016 when they entertain the Prince Albert Raiders at 7:00 pm.
