Silvertips Acquire Conditional Sixth Round Selection in 2017 WHL Bantam Draft from Brandon

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips) and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that the club has acquired a conditional sixth round selection in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for forward Jaeger White.

The club also announced defenseman Montana Onyebuchi has been reassigned to the Eastman Selects of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

The Silvertips roster currently stands at 24 players (22 skaters and two goaltenders).

White, 17, has skated in three games for the Silvertips and carries 19 points (5g-14a) and 17 penalty minutes in 66 career WHL games with Everett and the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The 5-foot-10, 171-pound forward was selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round (72nd overall) of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft and was acquired by the Silvertips on Dec. 10, 2015 from Lethbridge in exchange for a sixth round selection in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

Onyebuchi was selected by Everett in the third round (63rd overall) of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft and signed to a WHL Standard Player Agreement on Sept. 3, 2015. The 2000-born defenseman has 16 points (7g-9a) in 28 games with Eastman this season, also posting 52 penalty minutes and three game winning goals.
