RED WINGS NOTES
THE TEEL TRAIN: In his third start with Rochester this season, (13 relief appearances) LHP Carson Teel went 4.2 innings and allowed three earned runs while striking out four batters...the former Oklahoma St. Cowboy leads all Wings' starters with a 3.69 ERA when he gets the starting nod (min. 2 starts), compared to a 5.76 ERA out of the bullpen...Teel's 4.2 innings pitched are his most in a start this season...the last time the lefty pitched more than four innings in a start was July 10, 2021 (5 IP w/ HBG v REA in Double-A).
KNOCK, KNOCK ITS NOLL: With a pair of hits in tonight's game, 1B Jake Noll extends his hit streak to 12 games, breaking his career-high at the Triple-A level (11-game hit streak w/ FRE, 7/15-7/26, 2019)...the 28-year-old is one hit shy of the Wings' season-high hit streak (13, Joey Meneses)...Noll has a hit in 19-of-his-last-20 games, batting .296 (24-for-81) over that span.
HOMETOWN HERO: C Taylor Gushue went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, earning his fifth multi-hit game of the year and first since June 29 (6 games between)...the former Pirates' draft pick has hits in 8-of-his-last-9, batting .344 (11-for-32) over that span...Gushue is batting .306 (15-for-49) at home this season in comparison to a .184 (9-for-49) batting average on the road in 2022.
STORM CHASERS NOTES
MARCELOOOOO: Storm Chasers' LHP Marcelo Martinez gave up just one earned run in four innings of work...the southpaw has a 1.06 ERA (17 IP/2 ER) through three starts in June...the Royals' prospect has struck out 16 batters and given up just seven hits over that span.
IT'S A RAVE: Following an 0-for-4 performance yesterday, RF John Rave earned his first-multi hit game at the Triple-A level (8 games), going 2-for-4 with a double, two-RBI, and a walk in tonight's contest...Rave's walk in the top of the fifth earned him his first RBI in Triple-A...the Illinois State Redbird-alum had 16 multi-hit performances in 66 games at the Double-A level this season.
