Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

MOOSIC, PA -The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders dropped a 10-3 game to the Louisville Bats on Wednesday. The RailRiders tallied two homers in the loss, which snapped a nine-game home winning streak.

Louisville tagged Matt Krook for a pair of runs in the second inning on a pair of solo homers from Taylor Motter and Chris Okey. In the fifth inning, Krook struck out MLB rehabber Jake Fraley as a part of a 1-2-3 frame with three strikeouts. The punchout was his 100th of the season. The southpaw is on pace to easily break a Scranton/Wilkes-Barre - Yankees affiliated record. Brett Marshall struck out 120 batters in 2013, the most in the Yankees-affiliated era.

The two traded a pair of runs in the sixth inning. After a sac fly in the top of the inning, the RailRiders got on the board with a Phillip Evans RBI single to make it 3-1. Louisville responded with three runs in the top of the seventh off Braden Bristo. It was keyed by a Cristian Santana two-run single to make the game 6-1.

Estevan Florial, who just missed a home run earlier in the game off the top of the centerfield wall, sent a solo home run to dead-center for his team-leading twelfth long ball of the year. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre couldn't mount a comeback however after the Bats plated four in the eighth inning to cruise to a 10-3 win to even the series, despite an impressive Miguel Andújar homer in the eighth.

Krook (5-7) was saddled with the loss, his first since June 12. Randy Wynne (3-9) tossed six innings of one-run ball and took the win. The two teams square off on Thursday night as the RailRiders send Hayden Wesneski (4-7, 3.79) to the mound at 6:35 PM. It's Thirsty Thursday.
