
IronPigs Lose Third Straight Game

(Charlotte, N.C.) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (45-41) dropped their third straight game as they lost to the Charlotte Knights (33-53) 3-1 on Wednesday evening. The game started after a one hour and ten-minute rain delay.
Bailey Falter was solid through 5 1/3 innings against the Knights. He only allowed one run - in the bottom of the first inning that saw Charlotte take a 1-0 lead. Former IronPigs outfielder Adam Haseley hit a sacrifice fly that scored Mark Peyton. The IronPigs were able to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth inning against Steven Moyers as Donny Sands scored on a force out.
Lehigh Valley had excellent work out of the bullpen as Jace Fry pitched 2/3 scoreless of an inning in relief of Falter then Ryan Sherriff followed up with a scoreless inning of work. However, two runs were scored against Connor Brogdon (0-1) in the bottom of the eighth inning that saw the Knights take a 3-1 lead. Payton hit an RBI single that scored Zach Remillard then scored on a groundout by Haseley.
Parker Markel (1-1) earned the win for Charlotte as he pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning. Hunter Schryver earned his second save of the season by pitching a scoreless top of the ninth inning.
The IronPigs and Charlotte Knights continue their series on Thursday evening at Truist Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:04 p.m.
