WHAT'S THE STORY, CORY?: Last night, RHP Cory Abbott went 4.1 innings and allowed two runs on just one hit...the Red Wings' starter has a 2.78 ERA since the start of June (16.2 IP/5 ER), the best among all starters over that span...the Wings are 3-2 in Abbott's starts since June 1, despite being 12-20 overall over that stretch.

YOU GET A HOMER AND YOU GET A HOMER: The Wings tied their season-high with four homers (3x, twice vs LHV) in last night's contest, getting help from C Taylor Gushue, RF Nick Banks, LF Josh Palacios, and SS Ildemaro Vargas who all went deep...it was the first time that four different Red Wings homered in a single contest since July 25, 2021...the Wings improve to 31-11 in games they homer and 15-5 when hitting multiple home runs.

MONEY IN THE BANK: RF Nick Banks went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, and four RBI in last night's contest...the lefty's four RBI are the most he has in a game this season and the most runs he has driven in since June 19, 2019 (with Single-A Potomac)...with his fifth-inning long ball, Banks is now tied for fourth amongst Wings hitters in home runs with six, tied with Donovan Casey, Josh Palacios, and Andrew Stevenson who each have at least 18 more games played.

SUPER ILDEMARO: SS Ildemaro Vargas logged his season-high number of hits last night, going 4-for-5 with a home run, double and two RBI in the Rochester win...it was the first time the Venezuela-native had 4+ hits in a game since he had five (w/ RNO) on July 28, 2019...Vargas' homer in the top of the 8th was his first in 18 games and his third of the year (2nd w/ ROC).

THE BACONATOR: With a knock in yesterday's contest, 1B Joey Meneses has a hit in four-straight games...Meneses went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the 4th inning...the former IronPig is 6-for-12 (.500) with two RBI and two walks in the series...LHP Ricardo Sanchez will get the start tonight for Lehigh Valley.

Meneses is 2-for-5 with a pair of homers versus the lefty this season...with a home run off of Sanchez tonight, Meneses will have hit three home runs off of one pitcher for the first time this season.

PUSHING P(ALACIOS): OF Josh Palacios went 2-for-5 in the Wings' win last night, smacking his eighth long ball of the season...Palacios' shot last night was his first since visiting St. Paul, coming against the Saints on 6/11...he is now second on the club with eight homers (6 w/ ROC, 2 w/ BUF), tied with now-Big Leaguer Luis Garcia...the former Auburn Tiger extended his on-base streak to 16 games (since 6/19), which is the longest on-base streak this season among Wings hitters...the Brooklyn-native is slashing .279/.367/.438 (61-for-219) and has the fourth-most hits (61) on the club this season.

ANIBAL SO HARD: RHP Anibal Sanchez will get the start today, looking to build on his last outing where he fanned seven batters, the most he has had in a Minor League appearance since June 14, 2006 (10 w/ CAR, 40 MiLB appearances since)...Sanchez will be making his fourth Major League-rehab start (3rd w/ ROC)...he has a 5.35 ERA (10.1 IP/ 6 ER) over his first three outings.

SOUTHPAW SLAYERS: The Wings are set to face LHP Ricardo Sanchez in game four of the series tonight...this season, the Wings possess a record of 15-10 when a lefty starts against Rochester, compared to a record of 28-28 when a righty toes the rubber to begin a ballgame...against southpaws, the Wings lead the International League in batting average (.293, 204-for-697), and rank second in both on-base percentage (.359) and slugging (.469)...the Wings are averaging 5.8 runs per game when facing a lefty starter compared to just 4.4 runs per game when squaring off against right-handed starters.
