Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Carter Bins and Mason Martin each launched home runs to bookend a seven-run third inning as the Indianapolis Indians took the fourth game of a six-game set against the Iowa Cubs on Friday night, 7-2.

Down 1-0 following an RBI single by Dixon Machado in the top of the third, the Indians (39-41) erupted against right-hander Caleb Kilian (L, 2-1). Bins opened the frame with a second-pitch homer 420 feet to straightaway center field to knot the game at 1-1. The Indians then plated six additional runs as they hit for the cycle as a team in a span of five batters. Cal Mitchell broke the tie with an RBI double, Bligh Madris drove in one with a single, Travis Swaggerty roped a two-run triple and Martin capped the frame with his 13th longball this season.

Miguel Yajure (W, 2-1) fanned six batters over 5.0 one-run innings. The I-Cubs (36-45) plated their second run in the top of the seventh on a Jackson Frazier solo home run, but in total were held to just four hits in the game.

The Indians pitching staff struck out seven total batters and issued no walks for the third time this season and the first time since April 27 at Iowa.

With the series currently knotted at 2-2, Indianapolis will look to take a lead in tomorrow's game at 7:05 PM ET at Victory Field. The Indians have yet to name a starter while southpaw Matt Dermody (3-3, 4.77) will take the mound for Iowa.
