Today's Game This evening, the Buffalo Bisons will match up against the Syracuse Mets for the fifth game in the seven-game set.

Buffalo dropped a tough one-run game last night to the Mets of 3-2. After this series the Bisons will take a trip to Des Moines, IA to face the Iowa Cubs.

Last Game: BUF 2, SYR 3 The Herd came up short against the Mets in a close one-run loss last night. It was the OF Chavez Young show at the plate as the Buffalo outfielder went 3-4 with a home run last night.

INF Eric Stamets also went yard with his fourth homer of the year when he blasted a solo shot over the left field wall in the sixth inning.

Syracuse Mets (5-4) The Bisons are hosting the Syracuse Mets for the second, and final, series in Buffalo this season. With Buffalo leading the season series at 5-4, they look to remain ahead of the Mets in the 2022 campaign. The Herd will make their first trip to Syracuse for a six-game series starting August 9th.

Today's Starter: RHP Mike Ellenbest RHP Mike Ellenbest is set to make his fourth start for the Herd tonight when he opens against the Mets. On the season, the Buffalo right hander is 1-1 with a 3.27 ERA in 11.0 innings pitched with a 2:1 strikeout to walk ratio. In his last start, Ellnbest went 2.0 scoreless innings while allowing two hits in a meeting against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on June 29th.

OF Chavez Young Last night, OF Chavez Young was hot at the plate with three hits for the Bisons. Young got the scoring started for the Herd in the fifth inning with a solo home run to right field, his second of the year. He followed that up with a pair of singles in his next two plate appearances, helping account for half of the team's hits. Young also showed off his wheels by swiping second base, stealing his ninth bag of the year.

RHP Jeremy Beasley RHP Jeremy Beasley has been rock solid on the mound for the Bisons this season boasting a 1.64 ERA and striking out 38 batters in 33.0 innings pitched for the Herd. Last night, Beasley went 2.0 scoreless innings while striking out two Syracuse batters.

Blue Jays Update The Blue Jays (45-39) dropped the first of a four-game series in Seattle last night, 8-3. INF Santiago Espinal lead the Toronto offense with three hits in his five at bats including a double where he later come into score on a single to left field by INF Bo Bichette. RHP Max Castillo struck out five of the ten batters he faced in 3.0 innings out of relief. The Blue Jays will take on the Mariners in Seattle tonight at 10:10 ET.
