Ockimey Game-Winning Single puts 'Pigs on Top

(Allentown, PA) - Josh Ockimey hit a walk-off RBI single against Alberto Baldonado (1-2) in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (44-38) a 6-5 win over the Rochester Red Wings (43-39). Dalton Guthrie hit a three-run home run started the rally with a three-run home run against Baldonado.
Guthrie gave Lehigh Valley a 1-0 lead against Anibal Sanchez in the bottom of the third inning as he hit an RBI single that scored Scott Kingery. Rochester answered with three runs against Ricardo Sanchez in the top of the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead. Adrian Sanchez hit a two-run double, and Josh Palacios hit an RBI single.
Guthrie struck again in the bottom of the fifth inning as he hit an RBI double against Sanchez that scored Kingery to cut Rochester's lead to 3-2. The Red Wings scored two runs against Tyler Cyr in the top of the sixth inning as Palacios singled in a run and Sanchez stole home.
JoJo Romero, Jace Fry, and Nick Duron (3-4) each pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the IronPigs.
The IronPigs and Red Wings will play again on Saturday evening. First pitch at Coca-Cola Park is at 6:35 p.m.
