The Sound Tigers opened a stretch of five straight road games with a trio of shutout losses last week, falling 5-0 to the Philadelphia Phantoms Wednesday, 5-0 to the Manchester Monarchs Friday and 1-0 to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Saturday. The Sound Tigers finished last week tied with Philadelphia and the Binghamton Senators for fourth place in the East Division with eight points and a 4-5 record, including 4-1 at home and 0-4 on the road.

WED. OCT 27th at PHI, 5-0 L: Playing at the Wachovia Center, which is home of their NHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Phantoms were 3 for 7 on the power play, 6 for 6 on the penalty kill and received goals from five different players with 13 total posting at least one point. JOSH GRATTON, FREDDY MEYER, PATRICK SHARP, DAVID PRINTZ and TONY VOCE scored; Voce added an assist; DENNIS SEIDENBERG had two assists; and ANTERO NIITTYMAKI made 22 saves for his first shutout of the season. WADE DUBIELEWICZ made 27 saves for the Sound Tigers as Philadelphia had a 32-22 shots on goal advantage.

FRI OCT. 29th at MCH, 5-0 L: Manchester was 3 for 9 on the power play, 6 for 6 on the penalty kill and scored a shorthanded goal. CHRIS SCHMIDT, MIKE CAMMALLERI, YANICK LEHOUX, RYAN FLINN and TOM KOSTOPOULOS scored for the Monarchs; Lehoux had two assists; and MATHIEU GARON made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season. WADE DUBIELEWICZ made 22 saves for the Sound Tigers who were outshot 27-24.

SAT OCT 30th at WIL, 1-0 L: In the first meeting of the teams since Wilkes-Barre/Scranton rallied from a three games to one deficit to beat the Sound Tigers four games to three in last spring's East Division semi-finals, Penguins Goaltender ANDY CHIODO made 26 saves for his first shutout of the season, and MICHEL OUELLET scored on the power play. DIETER KOCHAN made 14 saves for the Sound Tigers who had a 26-15 shots on goal advantage. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was 1 for 6 on the power play and 7 for 7 on the penalty kill en route to its first home win of the season.

SOUND TIGERS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – C JUSTIN MAPLETOFT

Mapletoft played solid hockey at both ends of the ice in all three games. The Lloydminster, Saskatchewan native finished last week leading the Sound Tigers with five assists and tied for the team's overall scoring lead with six points.

THIS WEEK – Road Stretch Ends With Visits To Hartford & Portland

The Sound Tigers will finish the stretch of five straight road games when they visit the Hartford Wolf Pack this Saturday and the Portland Pirates this Sunday.

SAT NOV 6th at HAR, 7:05 p.m.: This will be the second of ten meetings of the teams this season, the first of five in Hartford. The Sound Tigers are 17-11-3 all-time versus Hartford, including 0-1 this year. They were 2-2-1 on the road versus the Wolf Pack last season. Hartford won the first game of this year's season series 3-2 in Bridgeport on Saturday, October 23rd due in large part to a pair of former Sound Tigers; JEFF HAMILTON had a goal and an assist, and STEPHEN VALIQUETTE made 26 saves. The Wolf Pack finished last week in second place in the Atlantic Division with 12 points and a 6-0 record, including 3-0 both at home and on the road. Hartford is one of only two AHL teams that has not lost a game in any manner this season, along with 7-0 Manchester who ended last week atop the Atlantic Division. The Wolf Pack were slated to host the Houston Aeros Monday morning in their last game before Saturday's Sound Tigers' visit.

SUN NOV 7th at POR, 4:05 p.m.: This will be the first of four meetings of the teams this season, the first of two in Portland. The Sound Tigers are 5-3 all-time, including two overtime wins in the only meetings last year. The Pirates finished last week tied with the Worcester IceCats for third place in the East Division with ten points and a 5-3 record, including 4-2 at home. They will visit the Springfield Falcons Friday and Worcester Saturday.

THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE

The Sound Tigers are scheduled to practice at the Rinks at Shelton Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m. They will bus to Hartford Saturday afternoon and play there that night, depart for Portland following Saturday's game and return home following Sunday's game.
